Week two of the NFL regular season kicked off this past weekend with multiple former Carolina football players receiving valuable playing time. Among the Tar Heels that received playing time are Mack Hollins, Zach Brown, Tre Boston, and Julius Peppers.
Mack Hollins and the Philadelphia Eagles played at Kansas City. Hollins received the first catch of his NFL career and finished the game with three catches for 32 yards with his longest catch at 13 yards.
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Ryan Switzer played in his second NFL regular season game. In Dallas’ loss to the Denver Broncos, Switzer had one punt return for 19 yards.
Naz Jones and the Seattle Seahawks took on the San Francisco 49ers at home. Jones ended the game with one tackle in the Seahawks’ 12-9 win against the 49ers.
Tre Boston, former safety, cornerback, and defensive back for the Tar Heels, played in his second regular season game with the Los Angeles Chargers. Boston finished with six tackles and three assists as the Chargers lost to the Miami Dolphins.
In his second game playing for Washington, Zach Brown finished with eight tackles and two assists in the team’s defeat of the Los Angeles Rams.
Da’Norris Searcy and the Tennessee Titans played the Jacksonville Jaguars. In the Titans’ win over the Jaguars, Searcy had one tackle and two assists.
Julius Peppers played in his second NFL regular season game since returning to Carolina. Peppers had six tackles, two assists, and two sacks in the Panthers’ win over the Buffalo Bills.
Tonight, Eric Ebron and the Detroit Lions take on the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.
