Good morning! Turner here. Today is the First Day of Class at UNC, and students are cris-crossing campus eager to get the semester - or in some cases, their college careers- off on the right foot.
If you're a student, what would you like to experience this year? If you're an alum, what would you love to go back and do at Carolina, given the opportunity? Tweet us with #UNConemoreyear, and we'll publish some of your responses in a future story.
Today at Argyle Report, we've got a First Day of Class story coming from senior Bryce Lapping, and a preview of Cross Country's Logan Carroll from Cole Barnhill.
Did you see the solar eclipse yesterday? I just got back from Isle of Palms, S.C. where I watched it on the beach. What a spectacle. The universe is pretty awesome.
Thanks for reading Argyle A.M.! We'll be back tomorrow with more of your top Tar Heel headlines.

According to The Daily Tar Heel, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper has given UNC permission to remove Silent Sam, the statue erected to remember Carolina's Confederate Civil War dead. A law passed by the North Carolina Legislature requires permission from the state's Historical Commission before a town or municipality can remove a statue, but Cooper said the University can decide to remove the statue if its continued presence may be a threat to public safety.
The letter from the governor follows a message from Chancellor Carol Folt about protests planned around the statue, and a call from Chapel Hill Mayor Pam Hemminger for its removal.
